Football at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi is the most popular sport and as such we have 33 competitive teams. Football is enjoyed by both boys and girls with many playing outside of school at the local academies and clubs.
Thanks to the commitment of our coaching team, the skill level and tactical appreciation of the squad members have improved dramatically in recent seasons, a trend we hope to continue.
We typically have around 400 players that represent the school and can field A-D teams in most age categories during fixtures after school.
Training: We play a strong fixture card with Abu Dhabi based schools: BSAK, Yasmina British Academy, Brighton College and The British International School are amongst our annual opposition.
Those not selected for the top School teams take part in the well-established, developmental football training. This gives another 150 players the opportunity to develop their love for the game with regular practice led by experienced coaches.
Cranleigh Abu Dhabi is one of the few schools in the city to have its own natural grass playing surface. We have four football pitches that are used for inter-school matches.
In addition to participating in inter-school fixtures, the top teams in all age groups compete in ADISSA tournaments, BSME competitions, and invitational fixtures against touring schools. Football is also played at the inter-house level, giving every student the opportunity to play competitively.
