This year, around 90 dancers from six schools came together in celebration, love and passion for dance at the British Schools of the Middle East (BSME) Dance Invitational 2019 at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi. Cranleigh once again welcomed the six schools for the BSME Dance on Thursday 21 February – Saturday 23 February 2019 with children from Years 5-12 participating. These schools include The British International School Abu Dhabi, British Overseas School (BOS), Kings’ School Al Barsha, Al Mamoura Academy, The Pearl Academy and of course, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi.

The BSME Dance Invitational 2019 focused on pupils having the opportunity to be part of the creative process, whilst developing communication and team working skills but, most importantly sent a message to the audience through the medium of Dance. The Dance Invitational focused on the process the children go through, the skills they learned, the people they met and the experience they felt.

The showcase took place on Saturday, 23 February at 11:30 am at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi. Dance pieces this year focused on the theme, Sands of Time – footprints are not made by sitting downinstilling identity, unity and the exploration of time and space and inspired dancers to set their intention and make their mark, on and off the stage.
